Day 10 - Planning the walls

Today marked a major milestone for us. We've been upstairs and seen what's going where. It's exciting, although we've not got quite as much space as we thought we'd have to play with. But before we get there, other stuff happened today...

The rest of the tiles have been taken off the front of the roof; it's now almost possible to see where the Velux windows are going to end up.

The rear dormer has also been prepared for hanging the tiles that are going to face the dormer wall:

The aerial installer popped over to see what needed doing to get the TV's all connected up and working. It looks like the electricians will run the wires, and the aerial guy will then get everything linked up and working.

Then, late afternoon, we went up the existing loft ladder into the roof space. The loft ladder is being taken out tomorrow, but was left in place so we could get into the loft more easily today.

It's beginning to take shape, and it starts to feel a bit more real now we've seen it in the flesh.

The rear bedroom is going to be slightly smaller than we thought (probably about 12'x13') but this is about the same size as we already have, so it'll be fine. The shower room will be quite snug, but we'll get a decent sized shower, and the sink unit and cupboards that we want, so it's all fine.
The roof slope on the office reduces the flexibility of the room a little, but we can get 2 desks in without too much difficulty. I'm a little concerned about how much storage space we're going to fit in, but I'm sure it'll be fine.
