Day 8 - Steel, and Floorboards

We got our first glimpse of the work done internally so far today. We're not able to go up into the loft space yet, so one of the builders took my camera up and got a few shots:

The photos are from this morning. Since then, the first of the steel beams has gone in - this one goes at the front to support the floor - and the flooring has started going down. They're planning to have the floor all down tomorrow so we can go and look (hopefully on Thursday) at where the walls are going to be.
The steel is one of the longer ones they've put into a loft, and they struggled to get it up into the roof space. The other length of steel will be used to support the roof at the original ridge.

If you look at photos number 1 and 3, you can see just how substantial the new floor bearers are compared to the ceiling bearers that were put in nearly 90 years ago.
